Yummy Eats: Cowans Test Kitchen

This simple Caprese Salad is as easy as it gets. All ingredients available at Cowans!

 

2 Large Local Fresh  Beefsteak Tomatoes

1 Large Ball of Fresh Buffalo Mozzarella

10-12 Leaves of Fresh Basil

Olive Oil

Balsamic

Maldon or Himalayan Salt / Black Pepper

 

1. Cut your Cleaned Tomatoes approx 1/4 inch thick beginning from the bottom. Each Tom gets about 5-6 slices.

2. Cut your Mozzarella ball into similar width pieces. Hold firm on a cutting board and use a very sharp knife.

3. Layer the Tomato & Mozzarella rounds and Fresh Basil leaves beginning with a Tomato.

4. Lightly drizzle Organic/ Good quality Olive Oil and reduced Balsamic Vinaigrette. Salt / Pepper to Taste.
